All! Yanase Takashi! The king of beer, poems, fairy tales, and Anpanman, the popular anime cartoon series
Although he is well known as the author of Anpanman, there is much more to the world created by Yanase Takashi, as he is also the author of several books, a lot of interesting manga and even a picture book.
The special displays held at the museum are always unexpected and presented in unusual ways. Following exhibitions featuring Saibara Rieko's works and from Dogu (the oldest clay figures) to figures produced by Kaiyodo (the most famous company in Japan making figures), the Autumn 2010 Special Display features the works of the well-known animation creator, Yanase Takashi. His most representative work, produced in the 1950s, is Anpanman, which is famous overseas as well as in Japan. He also produced a number of works previous to that. This display features works - manga and picture books - from his pre-Anpanman years to the present day: a rare chance to see such a wide collection.
During the exhibition period, there will be related events held, such as research lectures, oral Anpanman picture‐story shows and even pictures drawn on bread, so the whole museum will feature the works of Yanase Takashi.
