As ROHM's main production base for IC packaging, our mission is to deliver high quality ICs that satisfy customer requirements. The emergence of mobile devices demands thinner, high-pin-count IC packages featuring lower thermal resistance. At ROHM we developed and fabricated equipment for mass producing ultra-thin SOP, QFN, BGA, QFP, high- powered QFP, and other cutting-edge packages quickly and efficiently. We continue to be the world leader in surface mounting technology and the mass production of fixed chip resistors. The ongoing advancement of mobile technology is increasing the need for greater miniaturization. ROHM anticipates the needs of the times and quickly develops new products to meet emerging demands for smaller size, higher precision, improved functionality, and lower resistance. High reliability automated product lines, precision measurement technology, and advanced image recognition capability allow us to produce high quality resistors that make up the core of the electronics supply chain while ensuring stable, long-term supply.
Thermal printers have long been used with POS (Point Of Sale) systems, label printers, fax printers, and mobile printers. Today, however, they are an increasingly important support product for use in smart logistics. Electronic tags, date code information, barcode labels, cardboard labels, and high-quality labels are just a few of the critical logistics items that thermal printers can generate.
ROHM has accumulated industry-leading expertise in thick-film production, thin-film deposition, and semiconductor-manufacturing technologies through a streamlined production system and R&D focused on resistive elements used for heat generation and semiconductor solutions such as driver ICs designed to power these elements.
