At ROHM, small reels of industrial grade ICs are made available to support manufacturing in small lots. In the field of industrial equipment, there are many cases in which models generally span a broad range and the number of units produced at one time is small, that is, small-volume production in large varieties is necessary. ICs supplied by tape & reel generally are in quantities of 2000 to 3000 pieces per reel, but customers complain that in small-volume production, IC stock remains unused. Hence ROHM has made available a lineup of products supporting small lots, with purchases from 250 pieces possible.

Currently offered are "-LB"-designated industrial grade ICs for LDO regulators, DC/DC converters, op-amps/comparators, and EEPROMs. A reel with 250 pieces for small-lot production has the tape & reel symbol "H2" appended to the model name. Please inquire separately regarding support for other configurations.

LDO Regulators for Industrial Equipment in Small 250-Piece Reel for Small-Lot Production

Industrial grade low dropout linear regulators (LDO) are currently offered in three series, via 250-piece reels.

With output precision of ±1%, these chips adopt an HTSOP-J8 package (4.90 mm × 6.00 mm × 1.00 mm) with excellent heat dissipation. They also incorporate an overcurrent protection circuit to prevent IC failure due to output short-circuits or other causes, an ON/OFF switch that sets the circuit current to 0 μA upon shutdown, and a temperature protection circuit that prevents thermal breakdown due to IC overload states or the like. A ceramic capacitor can be used as the output capacitance, so that equipment can be made smaller and service lifetimes extended by avoiding the use of aluminum electrolytic capacitors. The operating temperature range is –40°C to +105°C.
